May 3rd- Yoga Fundraiser

Peanut,

You may be wondering why a Yoga fundraiser, well I will back up a bit and explain. You see on WDSD at the Circle 21 event they announced that the Down Syndrome Association ( DSAT) would be hosting Toronto's 1st ever Buddy Walk. Yaaa!!!!

The Buddy Walk is an event for the Down Syndrome community to raise funds for there local associations. The money raised is to keep programs going for individuals with Down Syndrome. It is a day to join hundreds of other families in a day/walk of celebration, a day to promote awareness. Over 300 Buddy Walks will happen this year around the world. :) So of course for the last 2 yrs I have jealously watched all my American friends post pics of there big days at the Buddy Walk. :) If you could have seen how excited mommy was when I heard we would have our chance to join/ celebrate our own Buddy Walk.

OK so back to the fundraiser, well from I heard the words DSAT Buddy Walk, my mind started turning with ideas. It started with what our team name would be, which ended up being " King Kaydsters Krew" then came the t-shirt designs, the donation page and goal, and rounding up our team members that would join us  and walk with us that day.

While all the idea's were turning and old skating friend( who we will call G.I)  of mommies reached out to me via email after reading our article in the paper for World Down Syndrome Day. The most touching note filled with the kindest words, and to find out we have so much more in common, as G. I's big brother just so happens to be chromosomaly enhanced too.  I feel so very blessed that our article reached so many people and G.I contacting me was kinda sorta the icing on the cake!! A few days went by and I received another amazing message from G.I. she was tossing some ideas around and wanted to help support us in reaching our goal for the Buddy Walk. Which sorry I set at $500. I can't tell you how when I read those words I filled with gratitude and excitement and loved the idea. A  Yoga fundraiser for "King Kaydster Krew" sooooo cool. G. I. this act of kindness will never go forgotten. xoxo's. So the details were this Fri. May 3rd @ 7pm 1hr Yoga class for $5 all proceeds going to "King Kaydsters Krew.

So here we are...Yoga night!! I was so excited for so many reasons, 1st time doing Yoga, its been yrs since I've seen G.I., introducing you to G.I, meeting G.I brother, seeing everyone who came out, having a great time for a great reason, and I could go on and on.

Lets get to it ,here are some pics of our great night:

You were the sweetest thing ever!!! You truly really seemed to like yoga. Mr. copy-cat you were and you visited each and everyone a few times and shared there matt and did Yoga with them. There were def some truly special precious moments with you up on stage helping teach the class with G.I and C. ( G.Is big brother).  It was a great night I truly enjoyed my first experience at Yoga and can only imagine how nice and relaxing it is without kids..lol. ;)

G.I. I can't say thank you enough, you offering to do this was so kind and more then I ever imagined. I am so so so so proud and excited to announce $200 was raised tonight. Wow I can't believe it. :) THANK YOU G.I.

A huge thank you to M.M for her photography without you I wouldn't have any captures of our night.

With that said Yoga tired 3 of the 4 out. :)

Thanks for that too G.I. my extra bonus ;)

What an awesome night peanut, all for you!
Muah, muah

Milestone Catch-up

I can't believe it's been so long since I last blogged...:( Life is so busy but no excuse, so much has happened with you and us. :)

- Early March: You learned to climb up on couch and within a week knew how to get off feet first. :)  Shuffling around everything too.

- April: I have tried stairs with you like twice at Tells house, you did OK but weren't quite ready for climbing stairs...well was I ever wrong. One morning at PT out of no where you scooted over to the set of stairs and climb right up them ( 6 stairs) like you've done it a hundred times. lol. At the top you kissed yourself in the mirror clapped and flipped over on your belly and came down the stairs same way. :) Omg you shocked the pants right off mommy, Where did you learn that??? It doesn't matter I can't tell how shocked, happy and proud of you I was. Your awesome!!

- You are a champion chair pusher or should we say anything you can push across the wood flrs, you do proudly.

- End April: You are signing more and more picking up sign's daily and really starting to use them correctly. You have also became very vocal with lots of new first words that you are using always ( I love hearing your sweet lil voice) I hear daily " off" " out" " on" "no" "hat" "juice" "num nums".

- You are a big teaser with standing up atthe side of the couch and backing up a bit to stand freely. You save your standing freely tricks for your Auntie Meg. Before I know it you will be walking. You are working so hard for it.
